Advice for IUI next month

Hi everyone. My first round of IUI is planned for next month with donor sperm.
I already have a 4 year old through donor sperm iui but this time I'm a little older (36) and worried it won't be successful and dr has only given me two tries before Ivf which is out of my price range currently.
So does anyone have any suggestions to up my chances in the last month? Already on folic acid. Lost almost two stone in the last 5 months to prep for ttc. Anything else that might help? I know there's no guarantees. Grin

Hi! You're off to a great start! I would say increase your intake of all the prenatal vitamins just to be on the safe side.

I added a screenshot of a post (I'm sorry don't know you to share the post here) I am doing their salads almost daily.

Also, my sister suggested I start taking mollers for omega-3, but I'm not sure if they're going to help. Oh, and I found some fertility podcasts and fertility meditations I'm trying as well.

Hi @CherryBlossom100, how are you? I've just posted the following thread detailing what I did to get pregnant on our 5th IUI with our beautiful daughter and I had her when I was 38!

Good luck!

Thank you both. I'll definitely have a read of what you've posted. Around 20 days now!

Hi @CherryBlossom100 do you have an update? I would love to hear how you are getting on. I am starting this month or next 🤞

Hiya.
Good luck!
I'm currently 12 weeks with twins. Bit of a shock to be honest. I've got my 12 week scan on Wednesday so fingers crossed that all will be well as haven't been scanned since 8 weeks at the Fertility clinic.
Are you having medicated on unmedicated?

Oh wow @CherryBlossom100 that's amazing news, congratulations!! Naively I would love twins, although not sure quite how I'd cope in reality! I'm so pleased for you. May I ask, how many rounds did you have and was it medicated? My consultant recommended unmedicated as my AMH and AFC were both OK, I'm happy with that as I don't cope well with extra hormones.

My clinic pushed for medicated but all my test results were good. (Hence the twins i think. 🤣)
I had clomid each day from day 2 and a trigger injection.
This was my first round of iui. Also fell pregnant with my 4 year old first try of iui last time so very lucky.
The drugs weren't too bad I dont think but pretty sure the twins are due to clomid making me release two eggs. And now have added stress of coping with twins on my own and the cost of raising them with childcare etc.

@CherryBlossom100 that's really reassuring for me to hear it worked first time. I think initially I was convinced it would work and now I've swung the other way and am convinced it won't!
You're right, having twins must be so daunting. I like the idea of completing my family all at once but financially it would be a juggle, and I'm a bit clumsy so not sure how I could even carry or feed 2 babies 😂🤷‍♀️ Having said that, I am sure you will cope. If you are strong enough to get through this process alone then you will definitely be OK once they are born 😊
