TTC month one with coparent

Hi all. I just joined and am TTC with my coparent, who I met via the coparent website two years ago. We are both gay (I'm a lesbian, he's a gay man) and this was our first month TTC using at home insemination (turkey baster method). Would just love to meet other people TTC this way and go on this journey with fellow coparents - I've been lurking on some TTC threads but I guess I'm taking a slightly different approach.

A bit more info about TTC...I'm 36 and have mild PCOS. I've been tracking my ovulation with OPK sticks and through EWCM for a year or so using the Ovia app. I also had a day 21 progesterone test last month and some blood work to check my hormones and whilst it seems I am ovulating, my doc was worried about some abnormal hormone levels and I'm on a waiting list to see an endocrinologist, so that's at the back of my mind whilst we start this journey.

I'm currently CD16 and am due to ovulate today. We inseminated three times this month on CD 14, 15 and 16, so tomorrow I start my two week wait. The inseminations have been a steep learning curve but im so happy to have got the ball rolling and to be actively TTC after spending the last two years getting to know each other. My cycles are consistently around 30-31 days so AF is due on 24th or 25th of Jan.

Anyone else TTC this month with a coparent or donor? I feel like the next couple of weeks are going to be weird lol.

Hello,
I just read your post and felt the need to reply.
I have recently turned 34 and would dearly love to become a mother. To cut a long story short, I have yet to meet 'the one' and nearly 6 months ago the man I thought was 'the one' ended our relationship suddenly and without any explanation, which left me devastated.
However, I have made an active decision to take matters into my own hands and not allow the lack of any worthy or decent man to make me miss my window of opportunity to be a mum.
Therefore, this year I am going start the process of looking for a man to have a platonic elective co-parenting arrangement with. I don't have any male friends who would be appropriate, so will need to use a site with a good reputation.
I am completely new to this and am a little overwhelmed, but am determined to do it!!
It's lovely to read about someone who has had a good experience in finding a co-parent and congratulations on getting the ball rolling on TTC!!
If you are able to give me any advice or guidance at all before I begin this journey, I would be so grateful.
All the best to you! :)

Hello! I used the website coparents.co.uk to find my coparent, although weirdly we actually do the same job and have friends in common but had somehow never met(!!!!) I had been on the site for quite a while with no luck tbh - lots of men looking to be sperm donors through "natural insemination" (you pay for a hotel and they get to have sex with you) and lots of quite lonely straight men who I think were actually looking for a partner. I was taking steps to start TTC with donor sperm when I met my coparent 2 years ago and so so glad I finally met him! Good luck to you.....the coparents website is not ideal but it did work for me in the end and might be a nice starting point?

Thanks so much for your honest response! That's all really helpful to know..can I ask, for how long were you on the co-parents site until you met your co-parent?

All the best to you! :)

@AuburnAmbition I set up the account when me and my ex fiancé were thinking of TTC many years ago but when that relationship didn't work out I let it go dormant. I'd say I was on the site about 18 months when I found my coparent - but that was on and off/periodically getting fed up of it :)

Hello both! I know this is an old thread, but if either of you are still around I’d love to connect. I met my coparent on the same website and we have 2 kids. The little one is just 1 year. Did either of you get pregnant?

Hi there. My hubby is infertile. So we are taking the same journey this month. We had peak ovulation with donor via Turkey bastor method on the 20th December. Insemination occurred on 18th, 20th and 22nd. Currently period is supposed to be due around 5th/6th. I have been testing non stop and all negative. I am going mad. Is it stil early or is it a negative for this month. I dont know but slightly heartbroken atm xx
