Has anyone used this clinic for donor eggs? Am interested as it has no waiting list and uses non anonymous donors, unlike many countries in Europe.
Any information would be gratefully received!
Thanks

Strangely I came across their website whilst trying to find more information about Ferticentro. It's so difficult to find any information about clinics in Portugal isn't it? It's definitely used by fewer people than Spain or Greece, where you can find loads of reviews for many of the clinics. But like you, it's the non anonymity that appeals about Portugal and significantly shorter waiting lists! I hope you manage to find some information and the best of luck for your treatment.

Has anyone got any updates on Ferticentro please? I have emailed them but they’ve not got back to me yet. Also looking for alternative clinics in Portugal, considering non anonymous donor egg ivf. Thanks

@Walkingmum101 I was emailing back and forth with them but the last couple of weeks no reply. I called today and they said they would call me back...

Slightly frustrating as it's not the experience I want with a clinic but staying in the UK is so expensive.

There is a lady I'm talking to on Paths To Parenthub who is having treatment there at the moment and is really happy with them so hoping it's some kind of temporary issue.

Hi - I must take back my previous post. The clinic has actually just been in touch and has been extremely helpful. I spoke to someone with perfect English who seemed non pushy and really good. Definitely now considering them

Yes we spoke to them for the first time today and were really impressed and feeling like we're very inclined to go with them

Hi I’ve now received an email back from Ferticentro but not yet a consultation.

How has their commmunication been with you recently?

Are you considering other clinics in Portugal also, which ones?

Thanks

I would say the best thing is to call them, once we got on the phone with them we then started WhatsApping and it was much easier after that. She said they have hundreds of emails and it takes them a long time to work through them. Also weirdly said if you keep emailing your email goes to the bottom of the pile.

We're waiting for some more tests from my husband before we will move forward but then we'll do a zoom appt with the doctor there. Not looking at any other clinics in Portugal yet.

Hi,
I’ve used Ferticentro for egg freezing so thought I’d share my experience. I was happy with their services. 6 eggs were retrieved and they were all mature. It was nice to be in sunny Portugal during the treatment, I think it made the experience a kittle less stressfull.
About two years later, one month ago, I asked for a quote for IVF+ICSI and the price seemed a little high at 4700€… for that price I thought I’d better do it in UK and save me the flights/hotel cost. So if they reduce it I might consider it. Currently I’m waiting for my first round with the NHS but I have mild hopes following what I read on mumsnet tbh.

Good luck on your journeys!

We are about to arrange an online consultation with them. They are one of many we are looking at.

Happy to pass on any info if you like?

Hi, thanks for previous messages. I am currently approaching a round of treatment at Ferticentro. Like others communication has been a challenge so it is good to read the comments above for advice. Also my experience so far has not been as I was led to believe before paying upfront, though I am hoping it can be turned around. Has anyone had successful pregnancies/full term babies via this clinic please? It would be very reassuring to know. Thank you.

Hi all, looking for advice and experience with DE treatment at Ferticentro!
Considering Portugal, Spain and Czech Republic, only Portugal offers non-anonymous donation..
How big is there donor base and how detailed is the matching process? Will they match using my photos, description etc? What information they can disclose?
Thank you for any information 🙏

We are actually in the process of getting relevant tests done so we can use IVF Cube in Prague. We visited the clinic while on holiday in September and spoke to the person we had been liaising with after our initial query. She gave us a free meeting as we were were there and answered all our questions. We had issues with previous IVF and she was able to put mind at rest.

We are looking at donor embryo - we can use either a donated embryo in which they will try to match as best as possible or we can have ones created for us which will be more expensive but there will be a set number of embryos guaranteed. The donated option it's per donated embryo.

Hope that helps

@RedFaerieBoots thank you! I also was looking at IVF Cube, just started doubting that maybe non-anonymous better. What was the deciding factor for you to select a clinic in Czech Republic? Were you considering Portugal?

Being honest, lack of communication. We sent queries to a bunch of clinics and had two replies from Prague, one from a Spanish clinic and one we had thought was in Sweden but turned out to be on Russia - St Petersburg. Actually had been seriously planning that one until well... things got complicated. They actually had support contacts in each country they offered services to as it was on right time frame and less language barriers. Have kept in touch with ours even though we didn't use.

In arranging chats IVF Cube seemed to be the most open and less faffy. They need some tests done but the other one sent us a huge medical link before we'd even chatted about options/prices etc. Alicante was a backup option but the level of communication from IVF Cube was incredible. They offered the option of a visit on hearing we were visiting Prague. Just that personal touch.

Was actually disappointed that Gynem never responded at all as we would have liked to have seen more clinics but in the end we came out very positive about cube.

Thank you!

Communication was a huge thing for us after previous attempt using my eggs here in Scotland. Felt like at the time the clinic was overwhelmed with their own number of clients alongside people who would have gone NHS or Europe. We had planned Europe then pandemic hit. Had recent communication with that clinic on something else and it just feels very salesy. They were the only private option here and now they have merged again... there's no personal touch. To contact them it's a switchboard in a call centre.

Definitely got the feeling they saw me as an emotional woman until DP said same stuff then reaction changed. Absolutely horrible experience not being listened to.

So communication is a huge thing for us. We need that and trust.
