Late starting progesterone in donor egg cycle

Hello,

I’m new to fertility forums but thought I would post to see if anyone has had similar experience. I can’t seem to see any other similar posts so maybe it’s just me!
Background- following one failed round of IVF (2 blastocysts - lost the first pregnancy at 9 weeks and the subsequent FET resulted in negative pregnancy test). We decided to go straight to donor eggs as I’m 43.

We have just had our first round on Friday - 6 eggs fertilised :) But now I am in a panic as I was late starting the progesterone pessaries. I started them the morning after the ICSI procedure rather than on the day of the procedure. I spoke to one of the out of hours nurses and she said it should be ok but that she would need to run it by the consultant on Monday and to carry on with pessaries as normal. But now the agonising wait and I’m terrified that I have messed it all up! 5 day transfer is booked for Wednesday.
I can’t believe I got it all wrong! Stressful day at work plus the clinic forgetting to call us on the day of the procedure and then they had all gone home (they called the morning after with lots of apologies). I’ve found the oestrogen tablets this time round have caused extreme tiredness and brain fog... Any reassurance would be much appreciated! I guess the worst case scenario is that we have to freeze all and try again next month (if we get any to freeze, keeping fingers and toes crossed!). Xxx

I’m far from an expert but l think it will be fine. Would they maybe up the dosage? My understanding is you can’t have too much progesterone?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I was wondering that too. I think progesterone is particularly important in donor egg cycle as no corpus luteum producing progesterone. It seems that progesterone timing is important in creating optimum window for implantation, I'm just hoping that there is a bit of leeway, fingers crossed. Hopefully not long til we hear now! It's been a looong weekend Confused
