Hope it's ok to start new thread...I'm new to all this, including forums....Just wanted to say hello.......I'm 39, going it alone and now 11DPO. Have felt awful since 7dpo - nauseous, sore boobs, stomach ache, dizzy...but then also have all that before and during period....Just wiped and noticed pink mucousy blood, 3/4 days before AF is due.....negative test. Could it be implantation bleeding? Can you really feel this awful from so early on? How is everyone coping with TWW? Hope everyone is doing ok.....Smile

Implantation apparently can happen between 6dpo to 12 dpo (so around day 8-10 is only the average). It's possible a small amount of blood and feeling awful could be a sign of implantation - or it could mean nothing and just be stress/illness unfortunately as every woman's different.

Equally a negative pregnancy test might not mean anything - some women don't get a positive on normal pregnancy tests till 14/15 dpo (or the super sensitive ones till 12 dpo/13dpo), so there's still a chance. Good luck!

Really sorry to hear that. I'm doing this alone too and the same age as you as well, with no obvious fertility problems (according to blood tests and scans) and yet I have had 6 unsuccessful IUI's and 2 unsuccessful IVF transfers so far. I think all we can do is keep going, but I agree it is so hard Sad.

Hello. Thanks for getting in touch! I really appreciate it....Sorry to hear about your journey so far. This is my first attempt, but it was a painful path to finally accepting I had to go it alone or risk never having a family. I didn't imagine it would happen first time, but the hope was there in the background I guess.....How did you find looking for a donor? Sounds like you are going through a clinic....? (I am taking the riskier route of someone I met online) How do you cope with the TWW? Smile

Hi. Yes, in the UK now if you want to use donor sperm from a bank you have to go via a clinic (you can't order it to home anymore) - each clinic has different sperm banks they will order from (a few also have their own banks). The costs are horrendous and there's a shortage of donors so not much choice, but my age meant I couldn't keep waiting to find the right bloke for a relationship/family.

It's very brave to do it with someone you met online, but I understand why you would. Did you meet a lot of dodgy donors or did you get lucky first time? (I've heard stories of donors hassling single women for sex Angry). I was also too nervous of their legal rights to the child in UK law plus the potential risks of STI's (if they aren't careful after they get the STI test done).

The TWW doesn't get any easier, in fact after the first few times it got worse because I keep thinking statistically I should of at least had a chemical positive by now - I've always given in and tested 2/3 days early every time too Sad. I think I've decided I will give it 3 cycles of IVF (the amount the NHS say you may likely need, even though they don't offer it to most people/areas), but then I will have to give up due to finances and my age meaning the chances are even lower (as I will likely be 41 or close to it by then!).

Hopefully things work out better for you next time Smile
