HPV + IUI/IVF

Hi All,

Anyone had persistent abnormal smears and high risk HPV and been successful with IUI/IVF?

I have had abnormal smears for last four years (w/low grade cell changes (CIN I) and high risk HPV detected). Am due to proceed with fertility treatment in next few months and, not only am I concerned this will delay my treatment, but I've gone down an internet rabbit hole and found research to suggest if you're HPV+ IUI/IVF much less likely to succeed. Would help if I could get more guidance from my clinic but they seem to have gone AWOL!

Any thought or advice would be much appreciated. :))) going into bit of a spiral

Hi F,

I am here thinking the exact same thing and getting myself upset this is the cause of no success. Were you successful? x

@frose2608 So I had HPV and it took my like around 12-18 months to get rid of it, this was back before TTC with IVF. Doctor told me lots of fruit & veg daily and vitamin C tablets helped me too. It was gone afterwards and I did the TTC with IVF. So @frose2608 if I can do it, you can do it, you got this. You can get rid of HPV, praying for you. Don't worry.

Also @frose2608 you just reminded me, I gotta book my repeat smear test, last time I had one was quite long ago. I don't have sex, I'm strangely asexual, but I'm still going to my smear check up.
