Donor conception
Fertility test - NHS/private

Hello, thinking of getting my fertility checked and was just wondering if there is anything that I can get on the NHS like blood tests for eg or would I have to go private for everything? I'm a single woman.

If you are entitled to NHS treatment normally, you should be offered fertility checks- BUT, if you don't have a partner, what do you plan to say? Is it AMA to check your egg reserve you want done, 21day progesterone to check ovulation or something else? If you were going down the donor sperm route, then I'd think they can offer it to you.
If, however, you are just curious and have no reason to think there are problems, I doubt they'd do any checks without a partner and actively TTC.
My GP refused to do a day 21 blood test as I was 1 week off having tried for 12mths!

Sorry should probably have mentioned I'm 41 so it would be with a plan to try donor insemination or IVF. I don't have a partner which is why I don't think I could get fertility tests on the NHS but was just wondering if there were bits that they did cover.

I see. I that case, I cant imagine the NHS paying for any of it. You could see your GP and ask, but don't be surprised if they say to go private. Have you looked into the costings for private? I realise its not the same, but have you considered fostering or adoption?
I'm the same age BTW, and only now starting IVF next month- after 8yrs TTC!!! Not saying the lengthy delays are all to do with my GP/surgery (but many), but I'd certainly be wanting the quicker service of a private clinic if I was just starting again now. Hopefully someone with 1st hand knowledge can help you though, best of luck x
