Ovulation and conception

Hi

I'm feeling very lost and confused. I've been tracking my cycles since October with OPKs and thought it was all going ok. Myself and my partner are trying for a baby with a donor using at home insemination. We had our first 2 donations with him Thursday/Friday just gone (we had to travel so decided to two while we were there). The apps I've been using showed that was my fertile week coming up to ovulation. I've carried tracking my cycle since and my ovulation date has now moved forward two days? I'm worried now we did the insemination at the wrong time? Saying this, over the last couple of days I have felt a few changes in my body. I've had some light stomach cramps, hot flushes, increased appetite. Not things I would normally have. I don't know whether it's just me hoping things are happening or if they actually are! Can anyone advise or explain (as simply as possible because apparently even this is over complicated for me!) how these tests work and if I'm loosing the plot basically!

Thank you!!

I would pay more attention to the opk's and your body than to the apps. Unfortunately apps use an algorithm that gives results based on input data but it can only give you what would happen in an average situation as it's just not clever enough to look at your individual circumstance.

It may be worth temping - it won't help you before ovulation as it only confirms ovulation once it's happened but could help you to build a pattern in your cycles and may make it easier to plan ahead.

My ovulation is all over the place so it's difficult to know when I should be seeing my donor. Remember though that swimmers can live up to 5 days and therefore it's obviously always better to be early than late.

Good luck
