sample leaked out?

Hi everyone. My partner and I had a donation yesterday at home, we used a purple oral medication syringe (because it’s skinny and long and doesn’t crush the sample as it’s being drawn up). When I was inserting the sample into my partner even though I was going very very slow it still came straight back out. I wasn’t even finished inserting it all and it was coming back up and around the syringe. We used a long medication syringe and the syringe was all the way in.

We were instantly upset and a bit deflated, my partner especially thinks it was a waste and it was the only one we got this month.

Any of you have some positive BFP stories after a leaky insemination?

@everymonthttc I think it's totally normal to have some leakage. Did your partner have her hips tilted up (pillows under her bum) as this helps reduce the amount of leak. Also it's very important your partner is relaxed during insemination as if she is tense the cervix can be tense too hth.

When you say a purple oral syringe do you mean like a calpol one? That is not going to be long enough at all. I am sure you can get a lot better ones that are specifically for the job.
