Hi I’m just looking a little advice my daughter is the result of Ovum Donation. I just wondered if anyone else has become a parent this way or a child who is the result of this. I would like to know how you explained to them and when etc. We feel incredibly grateful and blessed that this has happened to us and we want our daughter to know that she is our miracle that we chose x TIA

I am about to take steps to try Egg Donation. My cousin has a 4 year old from donor egg and donor sperm. She uses books and stories to tell her daughter. You can get material from the Donor conception network UK. They were a great source of information for my cousin. In my conversations with my cousin she said it is best that there is not one moment or event where the fact that they are donor conceived is revealed but that they are just always aware from an early age.
Can I ask what clinic you used? We are trying to decide and it is difficult.

Hi thanks for your reply. I had hoped to let my daughter know as early as possible etc with stories she knew that sometimes people need a little help to create a family. I’d just be scared that family or friends that do know would let it slip unintentionally and cause any upset.

Thank you. I spent 8 years living in NI. Belfast and then Randalstown. My friend had her treatment there and was very happy with it. Looking at clinic near to me in England. I understand what you mean about unintentional slips but I'm sure it won't happen.
