Egg donation for sister

My older single sister has always longed for a child and recently approached me to see if I could help her. I’m 36 and had no issues conceiving my two children (my second child was ‘happy accident’). It’s a big thing and having thought it all through I have agreed to be her egg donor. We both attended a clinic last week to go through paper work and start the ball rolling. I had a scan which didn’t show many follicles and my amh result was lower than expect at 4.9. I’m a bit mystified really by these results and just wondered how I could have conceived two children (youngest 19 months) so easily. I know how much this means to my sister and I really want to help her, but i’m not really sure what our next steps are.

What a lovely thing you are offering to do!
Just because your AMH levels are low, doesn't mean you can't conceive naturally- it just means it's likely to be more difficult. You have been very fortunate to have conceived so easily!
You'll need to check with your clinic, but in my CCG the cut off for AMH was 5.4 - I.e to have ivf on the nhs your amh has to be above 5.4.
Private clinics will do it if your amh is lower so worth checking with them.
My AMH is 3.4 and we have gone to donor eggs.

Amh is only really relevant to IVF as it's to do with egg quantity, doesn't have anything to do with egg quality/ability to get pregnant naturally.

Hopefully you can still get a few eggs if they give you an appropriate dose! Hope it all works out :)
