Hello we are in a same sex relationship (4 years) . We requested a referral in January to fertility clinic both NHS and private - we have now had all the tests completed privately and just have to complete the counselling part before first round of IUI. Today we received a letter from the NHS about making an appointment - should we now go with both? We are scrimping and saving to pay for the private option so NHS option is very tempting. This ever happen to anyone else ??

It depends where you've got your NHS funding for. You should have the choice of where you want to have your funding so if I were you I'd ask if you can take your NHS funding to your private clinic. It's highly likely you will be able to.

Oh really? Thank you. I didn't even know that was an option - that's what I will do...the NHS fertility clinic is approx 80 miles from where I lives and the private hospital about 15 so if they did let us use the funding for the private it would be great
