Hi all :) I'm new here!

I'm Sophie. My wife Amy and I are here to find out some information, gather some advice, opinions and just generally talk to people who are sharing the same experience as us.

We are starting our IUI journey and we are curious if anyone else is going through it now and the choices you're making. I'm just on the blood test stage at the moment so early days! Where are you having it done? Medicated or not? Etc.

Thank you for any replies Smile

Hi there, we're not going down the IUI route just yet but we are a same-sex couple, going to try at home first with a known donor. Hopefully we will start TTC next month! Just wanted to say hi and welcome :)

Hi I went through it last year. I had unmedicated iui as under 35 with no known fertility issues and blood tests came back normal within range.

I had in my head after 3 gos I would move to medicated.

First iui I got pregnant but not long after missed period it turned into chemical pregnancy . I decided to go ahead the next month straight away and got pregnant again and I am now sitting here holding a sleeping four month old baby.

I used London women's clinic. They suited me. I just peed on stick and when it showed I was starting to ovulate I rang clinic and went in next day. Some clinics scan you to check follicles as you get close to ovulation. Mine didn't and I didn't mind but I know some people like this.

Also buy a load of pee sticks fr amazon and start peeing and keeping sticks to compare ( I stuck them all on a piece of paper lined up so I could see line getting darker to show ovulation. Different women will show slightly darker line than others so I got to know how dark my line goes and what day in cycle I ovulate. After three months I had good idea so didn't pee every day through month ( from memory I think u was day 12 of cycle so started testing day 8/9 onwards )

Good luck xxxx

Wow so you had two attempts and had a baby. That's a great success. Do you hear anything back from blood tests or do you find it all out when you are at your next consultant apportionment?

The pee sticks are on order haha. I've started taking seven seas pre contraception vitamins to try and help. A long way to go yet but trying to prepare my body for it.

Hoping to get an earlier consultant appointment after the tube test and ultra sound has been done :)

Congratulations to you and thank you :)

I paid privately for tests and then had appointment with consultant all part of one price. I went to London women's clinic education seminar and got a discount given out on night for tests x

I had my first IUI in Dec with my (male) partner using donor sperm after many years of not conceiving. I'm 35 and it was unmedicated. I had 1 practice cycle where they scanned my ovaries a couple of times to check I was ovulating properly and I did pee sticks at home to see if they accurately predicted the actual ovulation. The very next cycle I used just the pee sticks to predict ovulation, and went in for the IUI (which was really not that unpleasant at all). We are now 20 weeks pregnant with a seemingly healthy baby boy. Good luck to you Xxx

Do you advise the pee sticks over the clear blue sticks with smiley faces?

Hello I use the cheap ones through the month and the cb smiley face a day or two before so I double catch.

Trying again for number two at moment so this is sticks for this month and how I lay out to compare ( me obsessive no! Haha )

Are you going ahead? If so good luck xxxxx
