I’m just wondering if someone can answer this question for me before I ask my clinic and potentially make a fool of myself...
We currently have 3 straws of IUI ready donor sperm frozen at our local clinic. I live in quite a rural area and there are various reasons why the clinic may not be able to do an iui cycle with us until May. Is there any reason why I couldn’t collect one of the straws and try at home insemination with it? Can you use IUI ready at home? And is there any way of keeping it frozen for 24 hours or so once collected? I live within a 15 minute drive, so thinking even if I couldn’t keep it frozen, I could use it as soon as getting home.
Also if this did turn out to be possible, what is the best day to inseminate? Day of ovulation? Day before?
After 4.5 years of infertility (male factor) I am very adept at tracking my cycle and knowing when i am going to ovulate.
Are there any reasons why this would be a terrible idea or not even possible? I’ve asked many silly questions in my time but I don’t want the clinic thinking I’ve finally listen the plot...
thank you!
