Sole or joint applicant = advice?

Morning,

I have to instigate the divorce process as things are available. Does anyone have any advice please on whether to apply as a sole or joint applicant? Husband is ND, not communicating and I think depressed. He won't even discuss anything ( no exaggeration) and I do not think he will engage with thr process. Any downsides to sole applications?

Thanks

I did a sole application, but my husband still had to do his bit as I applied and paid, then they emailed him and he had to accept the application. He is a complete technophobe, and I had to guide him through how to do it on his phone!!

Edited to say - if he had ignored the request, I think it would still have gone through, just taken longer.

Thanks @Belladog1 , really appreciate it. I think sole is the way to go. I hope you are doing as well as can be in the process.

Your welcome.

I'm OK as I instigated the divorce, and luckily I am still friendly with my X.

It is a long process though. I started it, then I think about a month or two later my husband had to sign something online. Then you now have a LONG six month cooling off period before the next stage. My 6 months is up this week - and I have no idea what the next stage is, but I am guessing I will have the divorce finalised by Christimas.

I have to say that the online procedure has been very straightforward and relatively easy.

Good luck OP, and I wish you all the best.
