Leaving marriage

So ive written on here before about my husband and leaving due to his drinking and verbal abuse.

I still haven't gone but things arent different, anyway last week there was an incident that made me email the housing department (ive had an alplication in since last year) i just emailed and said the kids are witnessing more from his behaviours drunk and sober, where would I be put if we went homeless? Now I wanted to avoid this as I know some areas and they arent good. Anyway they have phoned me Wednesday of last week and offered me a house.

I was in shock, shock... shaking the lot. Anyway it seems perfect and now my anxiety has really started. Ive applied for benefits but can't claim housing until I have the tenancy agreement. The house is getting repairs done and should be available end of this month.

Issue I have is my husband comes back from work the 12th of this month then has 6 weeks off. How do I do this as I want my kids rooms done before I move?

Im barley sleeping, thinking about him finding out is terrifying me. When he's home im either working or with him. Now that I have the opportunity I feel sick. Now it takes 3 seconds to find a video of him screaming at me to take me back but please someone who has already been through this tell me it gets better?

He's still messaging from work acting normal even although his two weeks home wasnt fun. This is so hard!

Can you & the kids leave the house & stay with family or friends until the new house is ready?

So my kids are both in school and my only family is over an hour away from school and work so that would be a last option or id he did find out. I only really want the kids rooms completed before moving everything else can be done when in...

I have zero experience of having my own house or doing this, how quickly could two rooms be completed?

Keep safe.
Can you have a relative to stay for a holiday while he is home?
You and relative can do some Spring Cleaning so all is a bit easier.

can you get just one of the kids’ rooms done before the twelfth and they can share until you finish the other? I’d prioritise getting out of there before he’s back rather than the rooms, as long as they’re safe to sleep in.

Do you have support from Women's Aid? They are best placed to advise you regarding getting your "ducks in a row", safety plans, solicitor recommendation etc.

I won't even have the house before then, its the end of the month.. and they cant share. My ADHD son is up alot of the night and my girl is autistic and can't stand the noise, she needs less noise or her sleep is bad. It's that he will be home when I actually get the keys etc.

I have before, they gave me an idea of how to navigate things - completed two of the things.. ive applied for benefits as i work part time and got the house now. I could speak to them again to see what they say.

Oh, I’m sorry. I get it - I’ve got two ND kids myself. Hopefully you get some advice from Women’s aid.
