Has anyone’s child changed their surname at 16?? Is it simple and straight forward to do? Does it need to be enrolled? Thanks ☺️

If you're in the UK you can change your name by deed poll at 16.

I thought you had to have the other parents agreement until age 18? Or am I reading that wrong?

It says a 16 year old can do their own deep poll but it will be an unenrolled one

Only if there is a court order

From reading the link an unenrolled one done by a 16/17 year old one doesnt need permission. If its done by a parent and its to be enrolled then permission is needed
