I posted here after my husband told me he was leaving on Valentine's day. I ended up asking for the thread to be removed as while I was so upset I shared more information than I was comfortable with.
General opinion was that he had someone else and that the upcoming inheritance his mother was sharing with him, wasn't something I would see even though he said he would share it so I'd be able to get a mortgage for me and our autistic teenager.
It's been 5 months, 5 difficult months but as everyone said, there's been bright days and bad days and as time has gone by I have manyore bright than bad days.
Yesterday, half of the inheritance landed iny bank account and I'm off to view some houses this week.
There's no sign of another woman but he does seem very happy to be single and without family responsibility.
I'm proud to have kept things amicable, I've made new friends and am actually starting to feel properly happy.
When he left I thought my life was over. We had been together for 25 years and I just couldn't understand what I had done wrong.
So, if you are just at the beginning of this journey, it does get better even when it feels like it never will.
