House sale timing

For those of you who have divorced and split the proceeds of the house sale- how did it work timings wise? I am in the middle of working out the settlement and think the house will be sold. Do we have to put the divorce in hold til the house is sold and the money is in or do we agree the % split and divorce anyway, then just arrange the money when the house sells (however long that takes)?

continue the divorce and financial agreement

you can agree to put the house on the market anytime and if sold ahead of reaching agreement monies can be held with the solicitor . many couples don’t put house up for sale until the financial agreement reached especially if the house is contentious and they hope to remain but end up with an order for sale.

are you near agreement ? Do you both agree the house should be sold ? Is it contentious? Are you far apart ? Are you amicable ?

we sold our house and split the proceeds ahead of divorce and financials - but we were amicable and did it all ourselves and we’re splitting equity 50:50 and keeping all our own other assets and we knew there would never be a problem splitting the money ahead of divorces.
