Have you actually taken any steps like seeking legal advice that would give you a clearer idea of how you would cope financially with divorce?

As well as starting your own threads surely you must have read the many, many threads on divorce and relationship break ups on MN which give a picture of other people's situations similar to your own?

If your marriage is as bad as you have hinted it is perhaps it's time to take sone practical steps to help yourself.

Pros - Dating can be fun, you can do what you like when you like, home is yours to decorate how you want, no negative energy or abuse

Cons - You waste a lot of money divorcing, you waste money living apart (the bills dont really decrease but you are the only one paying), loneliness, only having kids half the time. Xmas is shit. You feel vulnerable (ie. what happens if ill and need looking after, lose job etc)
