What did you do with your wedding ring and engagement ring and wedding photos and dress and shoes and when did you take it off was it before you were divorced or after and did you changed your name back to your family name before you were married

Changed name instantly 2 days after I left on paperwork etc, photos were binned as was everything else in one black bag...I didn't care about monetary value, anything to do with ex was gone before the week was out and solicitors booked to start the official proceedings. The only paperwork I needed actual divorce paper for proof to change name was for the bank, everywhere else accepted maiden name as it has been on there records before bills,drs etc

Same as @LazyTiger26 my aunt cleared out asap she wanted no trace of he ex.

My aunty many many years ago, when her divorce came through, she went back in her name pretty much the same day.

Her rings she tossed in the river, and she had a fire in the back yard for photos and everything else she could burn, what she couldnt burn went to the tip.
She said its not the woman i was its the woman he wanted me to be, and i dont need a reminder of what crap i had to deal with.

She never married again she moved on obviously, and met someone else but never married and never lived with man again.

I stopped wearing my wedding rings before he moved out. I've kept them, I think I'll give them to my DD. I've kept my name - I want the same name as my DC. I've started using Ms. Also kept wedding photos as they are part of DC's history, although I took down the framed wedding pics on display.

I’m keeping the rings to give to the kids if they want to have them remodelled. They cost a lot more than I’d be able to sell them for so I thought they could be turned into something useful when the time is right.
