My husband has moved out nearly 2 months ago. Im assuming he doesnt want to file for divorce as he hasnt done that. I believe he is seeing someone else but i do not know for sure. He owns where he moved to and we both own the family home.

For the financial i have heard we need to provide 12 months of statements from when does the 12 months start? I have a bunch of dormant accounts or those with pennies in and was gojng to close them all but i dont want my husband to accuse me of hiding money. If the 12 months is backdated from the date of the form we need to complete then possibly i would be ok to do this small housekeeping seeing as neither party has yet filed for divorce. I also want to close a couple of credit cards which i no longer use as part of the housekeeping.

He can be awkward if he feels the mood to or if i upset him. He may also get awkward if his parents get involved which they probably will be at somepoint. Even though i dont believe he told them yet as they sent xmas cards to both of us.

Is my understanding correct? Or does the clock on the 12 months start from the date the papers are filed?

Closing them isn’t a problem. Not being able to provide statements to show activity would be questioned. Make sure you have paper or downloaded statements filed in case they are requested.

You don’t have to provide any statements unless you are seeking full financial disclosure. Our forms were just filled out with data we provided without evidence as we both had oversight of the finances before separation and the figures seemed consistent.
