Where do i start?

I've just ended a 12 month relationship with someone. Before this I was in a relationship with my ex husband for 20 years, married for 10 of those years. I feel like I have nobody in my life apart from my exbf, no friends, hardly any family and I have 2 teenage DC. So I suppose my question is where do I start? How do I build a new life, new friends and new job at 40 years old?

You've got to get out . If it's female friends your after , join an exercise class or even look at the age range of your local Womens Institute ( some have a younger range of women attending ) join a walking group of join a group associated with a hobby you enjoy crafting or perhaps a book group .

It sounds like you are feeling a bit lonely at the moment and want to expand your social circle. Meetup groups for singles can be great for an instant social life and for meeting people who have been through similar life experiences. It can be daunting to start but longer term can be very rewarding.
