Mediation, to forewarn or not

My ex cut off contact 3 months ago, not by blocking but she has ignored all my texts and calls to arrange visitation.

She moved with DC 6 hours drive away so it is not just a case of turning up and I do not want legal issues by showing up.

I have gone to mediation now and I wonder, should I tell her I have so she just does not get contact from them out of the blue and cause us further issues?

We broke up for a fault that is my own but I was no bad father nor did I cause her harm , it was just a heartbreak issue.

Mediation in this kind of relationship is never going to be successful.

Your fault but it was just a heartbreak issue.

Is that a euphemism for an affair?!

either way, mediation is dead in the water

not at all, just lies regarding addictions. Nothing about being unfaithful.

How is mediation dead in the water? I cannot go to court unless I go through this first

How long ago did you split?

It isn't, ignore that response. Yes, ideally, it would be better to inform them that you've approached mediation and to expect a call.

Yes I would text her a brief message that you have requested mediation but nothing more.

You don't have to have mediation to go to court, you just have to have tried to sort mediation. If she ignores the request then you can still go ahead with the case, it will very much be a mark against her by not engaging.

Say thing this, from her perspective does she have good reason to flee and prevent access? Are you an addict?
