Hi all!

I am hoping someone can help, myself and partner are separating. He has turned round and said there is no discussion about co parenting we would do 50/50 split! I am so worried as he comes from a wealthy family and what would happen in court. He has battled with drug and alcohol addiction but is now sober but I am worried about my daughter’s safety as he was doing drugs since the birth of our child. Has anyone been through this or have any experience it would be greatly appreciated!

How old is your daughter OP?

You need legal advice and a Solicitor who can fight your corner regarding his addictions so he doesn’t get 50/50, if you think there’s a safeguarding issue, this needs investigating.

So your daughter is 9 months old and he has been doing drugs and alcohol since she was born.

He must be sober a nano-second.

He thinks a baby can be split between two homes and two parents 50/50?

Was he doing 50/50 parenting for the past 9 months? Doubt it.

Your daughter needs a stable, safe, sober home with a secure parent to attach to. Get a solicitor.

Do you have proof of the addition issues in writing because if you do I can’t see a judge giving him 50-50. He will be allowed to see the child though and possibly for an overnight.
