Hi I have been trying to find online a solicitor that offers the free thirty minute consultation. I tried one but it turned out that it wasn’t with a solicitor and then I had to pay 300 to get legal advice which I don’t have right now.
if anyone has had any luck with one can they let me know.

Honestly, you won’t get anything out of a free 30 min other than a very general
discussion on process which you can read online.

Ah ok. I had one regarding my mums will and it was helpful so I assumed this might be the same. I think I will just go ahread with the one I was quoted. ( it’s just so much money and that’s part of the reason I am going as he has loads of money and is giving 5 a week to me and I am living with a family member for free at moment so wil have to work out how to get the money )

It is a lot of money but if you’re looking for specific advice about personal situation you need a longer more detailed session - and that costs money,

a quick 30 min won’t be able to go into any specific details and will just talk broad concepts - all of which you could get online

The free 30 minutes is really a marketing strategy to try and get you as a client
If you want legal advice you need to pay
It s a bit like getting a quote from a tradesman ,and cuts both ways as if gives the solicitor the opportunity to see if they can work with you and vice versa

Yeah that makes loads of sense. It’s a minefield isn’t it! I don’t want to pick the wrong one

Ask your actual question on MN and see if anyone can suggest any answer? You could change your name first.

Oh I guess I could? On this board do you think or is there another more appropriate?

If you want a new will writing or advice on wills use Marlowwills set up by a MNer calls MumbleChum. I’ve used them, affordable and very thorough advice.
