Form E - Spending detail - help please!

Could really do with some help please! Currently prepping for filling in my financial disclosure for Form E - I have every bank and credit card expense listed on a spreadsheet and am currently trying to list what each transaction was for. Many of them I'm able to identify exactly, but:

  • When it comes to the Tesco shop (for example) that would include toiletries, clothing, as well as food. Do I need to break down each transaction into these categories accurately? Or can I just put family shop and estimate some of the transactions to be on clothes/toiletries?
  • The Amazon Prime account expenses - I can identify the majority using my order history, but some I can't trace for the life of me. I can make a good estimate based on the date, e.g, Christmas presents
  • In short, when showing my previous expenditure, does it need to be detailed to the level I'm trying to achieve?

My stbxh is obsessive about detail in finances and will argue extensively on it - he has hired a world-renowned aggressive legal firm used to handling billionaires' divorces (we are not anywhere near this category and it's a fairly simple divorce), but I expect everything to be questioned. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot by making mistakes on the form.

Thank you so much!

No advice for you, sorry. Just wanted to say I hear you. I’m divorcing too and he’s being awful. It’s so hard. Good luck. The end is in sight!

You definitely don’t need to go to that level of detail. There are numerous times in the process you’ll update your financials so don’t stress.

It should be a rough estimate based on your actual data.
