Changing Name and Still Using Passport

Hi - I'm planning on going back to my maiden name (really want to shake off the married name) but I've got a few years left on my passport. Can I still travel with your passport if the name doesn't match? Has anyone done this? I guess I just book tickets in my married name until I can renew my passport...

No, your booking name has to match your passport name.

I’m remarried. I still use my passport in my old married name. It doesn’t seem to be an issue

I looked into changing my name when dh and I got married but still had 5 years on my passport but basically needed to buy a new one. So all flights were booked in my maiden name. I never looked into maybe just carrying the marriage certificate.

As long as you book tickets in the name on your passport you'll be fine

You just book the travel in the name that matches your passport.

Got divorced many years ago changed lots of things but not passport, just book ticket in the same name as passport. It's really that simple.

As long as everything is booked using the name in your passport you’ll be fine. I had to get a new passport for our honeymoon which was in my maiden name. I continued to use this for the next 10 years when everything else had been transferred into my married name. It was never an issue. I even called the passport office to check and they agreed that it wasn’t a problem.

I did exactly that, OP. Changed back to my maiden name by deed poll after separating (a long time before actually divorcing). I carried on with my old passport in my married name for a good few years until it ran out. Just always bought holidays / flights in the married name. Had absolutely no problem. Even with insurance when I broke my wrist on holiday one year and my medical records were in my new name and holiday and insurance in the old one (bought together). They still paid out.

Its fine as long as you book the flight tickets in same name as the passport.

Make sure (unless you have a lives with CAO in your favour) that you have permission from your ex to take kids abroad on holiday

I kept my passport in my maiden name for e or 4 years.

I booked flights etc in my maiden name to match. However I then tried to hire a car....i realised that I'd changed all my bank accounts so my credit cards didn't match my ID. I think my driving licence was also still in my maiden name.
Had a bit of a nightmare getting a photo of my wedding certificate emailed through.

After that I just carried the certificate to link the names. You should be able to do the same with the deed poll certificate

Passport is in maiden name as wasn’t going to get a new one as had 9yrs left on it

I’ve kept one bank under maiden name for this reason incase I need to pay for something under maiden name

driving license is under married name as are any other bank accounts Doctors Medical stuff, and work certificates /insurances etc

im getting divorced but keeping my married name due to dc so have same name but also more due for work /professionally as im known in that name

holidays I just book under my maiden name as that’s what my passport is
