I’m quite a lot older but definitely not wiser and wonder if some of you much younger have any advice.
Husband who’s an alcoholic (and does nothing) of long term has literally used all my money and am in debt and he sold our house but money gone on rent and alcohol. I’ve a small NM business not bringing in money at the moment. I’ve a very very small pension from years ago working. I feel totally stuck and wish I could think of a solution. 🥲

You divorce him as soon as humanly possible. You save as much from him as you can.

However, today, you open a new account and arrange for any and all money due to you to be paid into it. Close any other accounts.

Check your credit score. Deal with utilities. Get onto payment plans if you need to.

If you are the only name on the tenancy, you may be able to change the locks and say he can’t come back. Yes, it will mean he is on the streets but he cannot be helped by you or anyone else unless and until he is interested in being helped.

If you stay as you are, you will only be dragged into grinding poverty and degradation. You deserve a quiet, sustainable life and you have to go and organise it yourself.

you could at least divorce pre house sale and part with the 50% - not helpful I know. This is all my brain mustered
