How did you tell your husband that you want a divorce and what sort of time and day was it when you told him and when did you leave

IME, preferably as far away from each other's birthdays/Christmas, etc. Preferably springtime, new beginnings and all that. Oh, and make sure it's raining outside to match the mood.

I got a letter today and myself and dh are close to breaking up and I thought imagine the day he tells me/ I receive papers and I felt like I was having a heart attack. I’d want someone to just talk to me and tell me

I think just choosing a time when you will both have time to talk and think without rushing off to anywhere, so not just before work or late at night, for example. Other than that, you just have to do what works for you, but don't leave it too long if you're already sure in your own mind.
