If i have a joint bank account with my husband for household bills can i claim universal credit? Husbandpays into this account but i dont.(separating but in same home with mortgage) (my income in separate account)

If he is paying the bills of the household you live in then you aren’t financially independent. And won’t be eligible for UC. If you paid your share, half of all the bills, then it would be different.

You still have to make a joint claim when married you can't make a single claim

Can I suggest you do a search here on MN as there are many threads raising this topic and you can of course make a claim to UC while still married and living in the same household but you will need to prove this is the case to DWP.

The relevant issue is that you are not using your income and UC to cover your living costs. These are being paid by your husband. There you are living off his income. That means it is relevant to your UC application.
