Mums who left their husband's did you leave him whilst he was at home or out and if he was at home did he try stopping you from leaving and did you take the children with you

I left while he was arrested. I had 2 choices to make, stay or my baby be taken away, I was given an hour to make the choice and obviously went with my baby. 15 years on married to right one and other children and couldn't be happier, but spent 6 of those on my own first before met now hubby

I suggested a temporary break and that he stay at his mums, he did and I changed the locks and never looked back.

I gave him plenty of warning, then found a cheap ish house to rent nearby, hoping he might do the decent thing & move out instead. He did (very last minute), and I stayed in the house and eventually bought him out. I paid half his rent until that point.

Thankfully he did not try to take our dc. He saw him each weekend though.

everyone is different though, clearly. Get plenty of support in place if you can.
