Divorcing foreign-based husband

I'm currently applying for Legal Aid with a view to divorcing my abusive husband. He was removed from the UK several years ago after I revoked his spousal visa. We share 1 child who was a young baby at the time of the split and who has always lived with me in the UK.

If I'm fortunate enough to be granted Legal Aid, I want to start the divorce process but have a few questions that I'm hoping people on this forum might be able to answer, especially if any of you have been in similar situations.

So, for obvious reasons, I want my address to be kept hidden from him. Is this possible? He's previously made threats to my life and threats to have our child abducted to his country. The police and courts here in UK know all about this, it's verifiable.

Also, if he's never been involved in our child's life and child has no memory of him, could he still be granted access or visitation rights as part of the divorce terms? He's from a country with no treaty in place with the UK, so if he carried out the abduction threat, I'd never see my child again. Also, husband is unlikely to ever be granted UK visit visa again due to criminal record.

Could I be made to take our child over to his country for visits etc?

Next question: I bought a house in my own right couple of years ago.. He had no input (obviously, already had been split a few years when I bought house). He has no idea about it. Would he have a stake in my house or other financial assets in the divorce? He's virtually penniless in his native country, does menial work and lives in a 2 room place with his whole extended family.

Your can indeed choose to keep your address details secret from your spouse. And even if you can’t get contact details for him you can still eventually divorce him. The other questions I can’t answer. Good luck
