Joint or separate D81

Ex and I divorced last year before consent order was granted (I know 😡)

Anyway I am finally getting round to filling out the D81 and wondering if there is an benefit to completing it jointly as the form suggests?

We are on civil terms and if it’s quicker /easier to present a joint declaration I’m prepared to give it a go.
However if there is no benefit I will keep it separate

You need a solicitor to advise you. I was going to do a joint one and my solicitor advised that this was a very bad idea. Even if you are amicable now the moment you start talking money it might not be so amicable anymore and then if it’s joint he can block progress.

Usually the same form is completed jointly, occasionally if one party doesnt want the other party knowing certain information each party completes a separate form
