Offer on the house

Hi all,

Going through a long divorce that has been delayed by the house not selling as quickly as I’d liked. I’m still living in the family home and have been for the last 4 years - yes, it’s taken that long. I no longer have a solicitor as I just couldn’t afford the £300 an hour anymore.

I haven’t looked at any properties but not sure what I need to do. Stbx still has a solicitor. Financial side of things all sorted (before I parted with my solicitor).

I think we will accept the offer. What happens next? I am reluctant to get a mortgage at my age (mid-50’s) but will get a small one, if needed. Do I need to get a solicitor again to make sure the house sale is handled properly and the divorce is finalised? I’m clueless!

Hi

youd need a conveyance solicitor to deal with the house sale

you then May or no need a solicitor to finalise your divorce and financial settlement

theyd be different solicitors
