what do i need to ask?
I have a few specific finance questions

My solicitor did most of the asking at my first meeting...she seemed to have a fairly standard list of things to go through to get information from me. I had some questions but she mostly answered them as we went along anyway.

Ask what they think a reasonable settlement would be.

Ask them what they think you are legally entitled to, and what they think you are likely to get. Use the first as your starting point but don't fight for more than the latter or you could end up spending £30K to get an extra 20K.

Ask them the steps to the whole process so you know what order things need to be pushed. It gets confusing when children, money and the dissolution go at different paces. You can do the dissolution yourself online but don't ask for the decree absolute until the financials have been before the court.
