Consent order/ title deeds change

Hello
I got divorced over a decade ago. There was a consent order made at the time stating I would have the house and ex kept his significant pension. At the time there was no equity in the house but I was wanting the stability of this home. It stated I should move mortgage to my sole name within 12 months. I did not, I could not get mortgage in my sole name as contractor a provider would not offer, so I just continued with his name on mortgage. Does my delay mean the order still stands? I’m now looking to pay off final payments of mortgage and understand, something I didn’t at the time I need to secure agreement of ex now in addition for removal from deeds of house. We haven’t spoken or had contact for over a decade and unsure of his whereabouts. Has anyone experience of this, and can they detail? Do I need a solicitor for deeds process? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you

You need a conveyancing solicitor to take his name off the title deeds and the mortgage. Your mortgage company can sort this but you’ll need your Ex’s approval I think.
I would speak to your mortgage provider and go from there. There’s a cost to remove his name of a few hundred £ I think.
