Divorcing with no support network

Has anyone divorced and has no support network? Essentially I will have to just get on with it myself, move house to a new area (still within my city) set up a new home from scratch, furnish and decorate it and basically just get on with things while supporting my children? I still have my parents so am luckier than some, they are elderly and have their own health problems and won’t be able to offer practical help. I have quite a few friends that I meet individually for coffees etc but they are all very busy with their own lives.

I hear of women leaving their husbands whose large families and friendship groups rally around.

It’ll just be me taking it one day at a time.

I left my husband 8 weeks ago. I have no family in this country and only very few friends, mainly due to coercive control and increased isolation. It’s doable although it will be hard. I reached out to family abroad and to friends I have lost connection with - it has been transformative to getting me through this situation. I would suggest being brave and sharing with people you can trust - they will surprise you and I hope their compassion grounds you and gives you the drive to do what is necessary. Forza 💪

I haven’t used my support network for anything practical…set up a new home, bought furniture, decorated, arranged all utilities etc on my own. Have met with friends for drinks and chats but I’ve done everything practical (apart from get my dad to drill into a wall for a tv bracket!). I haven’t got young kids though so maybe easier.
