Going through a horrible divorce and it's just dragging so long. We're due our final hearing in March but the judge will probably order a sale of the house (ex husband is refusing to budge on his offer to me even though I know I'll be entitled to slightly more if we go to court). He wants to buy me out and stay there with money lent to him by his family but is saying he can only afford a set amount and if I want more we will have to go to court and sell. (I know he is holding me to ransom). This will just make this whole thing drag on even longer and I just want rid of him to be honest. I know I am entitled to more but the stress and barrister fees will take me closer to his offer and he knows this. (Probably with a difference of around £7k - which is a lot of money to me) but I'm just so stressed and want to get on with my life.
Anyway... My question is does anyone know how long consent orders are taking at the moment please? If I accept his offer I take it we'll have to draft one and submit it to the judge to approve? Any ideas how long this takes or how much this costs as I need to factor this into my decision of accepting or not.
