Advice please Separation and finances

Can anyone help with subject of UC and separation?
married,2 kids, homeowners
I work PT around school hours as our youngest has special needs
husband works full time and earns x 10+ what I do
my question: I’d like to separate and stay in family home with children until it’s sold but if I was forced to move out due to his bad behaviour can I claim UC? I’ve seen a lot of conflicting information about claiming while owning a home you don’t live in. I would not be able to make ends meet without UC.

I believe UC will disregard the asset for the first 6 months after separation so if otherwise eligible you can claim and if it is then put up for sale they can disregard it for a further 6 months.
