Ladies what did you do with your wedding ring and when did you take your wedding ring off did you take your wedding ring off before the divorce or after divorce and did you take your wedding ring off before you left your husband or after you left your husband

I took my ring off about two months after we split up. I'd worn it constantly for 20 years. There's still a groove in my finger skin where it used to be. I divorced him seven months after the split (no messing around), so the ring was taken of five months before. It's now in the tin I keep my hair accessories in.

How long where you married for

Took mine off when I decided I was done, I had no reason to leave it on. I moved out a year ago, took it off about 8months before that. Going through the legal process now.

Took mine off years ago…I find wearing rings uncomfortable so used to take them off every night and then just stopped putting them back on. Always disliked advertising marriage…felt a bit like a label, a symbol which wasn’t at all reflective of our life.

As soon as I realised he was cheating, I knew I was done - removed my ring, went to a lawyer and divorced him. Married 25 years. It will still be in the house somewhere, probably in one or other jewellery box - never was sure what to actually do with it, lol.

Whoever is in my old house now... good luck with finding them.. they weren't cheap nearly 40 years ago.

Took mine off the day he asked for a divorce. Eventually pawned them.

25 years married. I sold mine so I could pay the mortgage when he defaulted on a court order to pay.

I was married to first husband for 21 years. I found he cheated on me so immediately took off my wedding ring and divorced him. I threw my 18 carat yellow gold wedding ring into the sea from the top of a cliff where he proposed to me. I've never regretted it.

It sounds like you're not sure about what to do about taking your wedding ring off or not? If it's helpful for other people's experiences, then use them, but try out yourself if you want to take it off or not, it's your choice. Only you can know for you what's best. I was with my STBX for 20 years, it ended in May, paperwork for divorce is now in the system. I can't deny the lasting impact we had together, so I wear my wedding ring on the opposite hand as he is still a part of who I am, but I have taken off my engagement ring. It took about 3 months to decide to do that. Maybe in the future I'll take off the wedding ring, but for the moment I'm still wearing it.
