Financial order

I know there are threads out there already but I can’t find them….
currently going through divorce. I’ve been quoted £2250+ vat for financial order by solicitor.

its quite straightforward and we’re in full agreement. How realistic is it to do it ourselves and not have it rejected by the court (for errors in submission)?

thanks

I did mine myself and just had a solicitor do the formal form - cost £550

That didn't include any conveyancing for the split of house equity and removing him from land registry though (I'll be buying him out) - that's going to be about £1.3k

You could consider these guys? I haven't used them yet, but great reviews, or go for it yourselves amicable.io/legal-and-finances

Sorry @CuppaTea23 i didn’t see this but coincidentally this is who we’re going with. Are you using them?

I'm still considering using them to write up the financial order, but we're still in the waiting zone so can't do that yet. Let me know how you get on? And good luck!

Thanks, I’m hoping it’s straightforward. My only regret with using them is that they don’t really offer advice. Hopefully it will be smooth!

I think they do, you just chose different packages if you want them to help negotiate? Hope all going well!

@CuppaTea23 well we have submitted our consent order to the court via Amicable. There were a couple of times I wished we’d paid out for a solicitor so we had more advice available (on what would and wouldn’t be acceptable to the court) but on the whole the experience was okay. Just waiting to see if it’s accepted by the court now 🤞
Have you made a decision/start yet?

No, Im procrastinating hoping that he finds a job as I think that will make the discussions more positive and stable. But I can't wait forever, so tough to know what to do.
