FDA - no documents submitted - potential wasted hearing

So my stbx has been difficult all the way through but we were finally due to have our first financial hearing in two weeks time. My solicitor hasn’t received anything from his and is now concerned that there won’t be enough prep time and it may be a wasted hearing. Anyone had any experience of this? Is it likely to come through in the nick of time? Really hoping this isn’t going to drag on any longer than it has to. Just want to move on now.

What does the order say in terms of dates? If the hearing is wasted due to their inaction, you should claim costs…

I am very sorry to hear this. I am in the same situation. They keep ignoring the deadlines. I already agreed to postpone it 2 months and i am in a very difficult situation as we live in the same house. Claiming cost is not good enough the FDR still has to be done.

Why do some people want to drag this horrible process is beyond me. I am sure both sides are having a horrible time.

So the paperwork was submitted just in time. He’s claiming the whole house, all his pensions and for me just my minuscule pension and my car… never been more scared than the moment I first left.

Is this an open offer? I hope the judge gives him a reality check!

He can claim all he wants. A judge will give him short shrift pretty quickly.
