Help, is he cheating on whatsapp?

Really hoping someone can help, I think my partner is cheating again. He's archived a chat, deleted all messages and it only shows now the date which was Monday. Is that the last time he was in contact? He says he's not been in contact for a year so I need to know if he's lying.

Yes there was contact on Monday but you don’t know from which side, best case scenario is that it could have been from her, he could have not responded and deleted in a panic but he hasn’t blocked the contact.

It looks like it's when a form of contact/activity was initially started. The archived chat you mention could have something to do with it as-well. I've had this when I've initially added a new persons details to my iphone, then pressed the "WhatsApp' button displayed below the contact, once I've added them.
Looks like he has the number stored on his phone.
(When you add a contact on iPhone it displays something like: FaceTime, message, WhatsApp directly beneath the contacts details - this is all the options available that you can contact the person on).
That's my theory anyway, hope this helps.

@EspanaPorfavor That's what I thought. On Sunday I found out he's been cheating with someone and possible multiple people over the last 2 years. Monday I check his phone for other names that I've felt v uncomfortable with, this is one. It looks like he's panicked and gone to delete or clear all messages and then archived the chat (it wasn't even in archived chats, I had to search her name to find she was archived and muted). If it says Monday, would he have messaged her on Monday (maybe to warn he's having to clear chat and archive her) or would the Monday part be there also if he only deleted it. He's told me no contact for a year, have I got proof he lied and did contact her on Monday?? Urgh, it's so difficult not know :-(

Just found this. I don’t know if you have your answers yet but yes there was def some contact on Monday. He’s clearly not tech savvy as he could have just deleted the entire thread and that would have re-set any date notifications.
