Does the child support agency actually exist

I've been trying for weeks to contact the csa in the uk via a phone call but they cut me off their end after a lengthy wait.
im beginning to wonder if they actually exist. I have recieved an email from them stating that my ex partner owes nothing in child maintenance as he has the children more than 52 nights a year, he doesn't and he's claiming state benefits which he doesn't! He actually works, has company van and owns a second home, which he rents out. I have written a letter but not holding out much hope. He's obviously fed them a pack of lies which they have not checked out! Any advice would be great!

Haha. No it's actually CMS now.
It's some weird arbitration service as far as I can tell.

Get the CSA back with powers to take away the car, imprison and fine.

They do but are a massive pain the the bum to contact. If you call at 8am when the phone lines open you might have more luck although even this has got worse.
