Am I doing this in the wrong order?

I'm living with my ex and two kids. We are slowly getting through the divorce and finances. We agreed the finances between us but we both got advice. My solicitor is currently drafting the consent order. The plan at the moment is for me to buy a house once the divorce is done.

Do I really need to wait for that? If he's willing to transfer me the money sooner can I just use that money to buy a new house now? What are the implications of me not waiting until it's all done?

He's buying me out using some inheritance money which will give me enough to buy a house.

The reason I'd like to get a move on is because I think more houses will be on the market now then in November when it's due to be done.

Thanks

Go ahead and do it. I had similar and the transfer of the house was done before the divorce and final consent order. Mu solicitor said it showed intent.

OK thanks, I'm not sure what advantage showing intent is.

I guess I'm wondering what are the disadvantages are of not waiting....what complications could it cause if any.
