I have been married for 8 years. No children. No pets. I have a small cafe.
Husband doesn't work but has a commercial unit full of workshop and 12 cars. I pay the bills. I pay for most things unless I can't then his mum does. We are in our 50s. We have seperate bedrooms.
Its been 4 years of him shouting and wearing me down, no violence, but I didn't want to be the one that leaves. He won't leave,
I rent the house, a shop and don't drive. I have no assets. Savings £4000 He has lots that would add up like the 12 cars and workshop.
Do I just close the business and leave? I love living here and the community cafe but maybe he's ruined it and I need to relocate and start again.
As any divorce would be expensive it would be better to walk away? Or can he continue to make me pay even from afar.

Is his name on the rental agreement for the house?
Are the house and shop separate?
