After School Care fees

Hey

Me and my ex have 2 kids. I have them 4 nights he has them 3 nights. They are both school age and currently, i start late to drop them on my mornings, and finish early to pick them up on my nights from school. so I work reduced hours.
My ex now needs after school care on the nights he has them after school, and is saying i need to pay 50% of this cost.

Does this seem correct or fair? I could work full time, but don't and have a reduced wage so I can do the school run on my nights.

How does anyone else works this situation?

Thanks

His nights, his fees to pay! 100%.

No, each parent is responsible for any wraparound costs on their nights

He’s ridiculous. His days his problem.

LittleOwl153 · 10/07/2024 11:28

Of course it's his bill to pay.
Does he pay maintenance? At what level? My guess is he'll say he's taking it out of the maintenance next - especially if that's above cms level.

Thanks, this does help back up what i already knew. I just know it is going to start a big argument, which i really cant handle right now.

He doesn't pay maintenance and never has. He has them 3 nights, i have them 4, and the likes of clothes etc we both buy equal amounts

If he kicks off then very sensibly explain to him that you will need to increase your working hours to cover paying for his wrap around care, therefore needing your own wrap around care, and then you'll be charging him 50% so he'll be worse off anyway.

Honestly he is so petit and being ridiculous!

littleapplecottage · 10/07/2024 11:32

Petty, he may also be petit

No is a complete sentence. If he gets aggressive contact the police.

His nights, his cost. What a ridiculous man.
