Looking for inspiration!

What do I do with the jewellery my STBX husband bought me during our marriage

I discovered he was having an affair
Suspect it wasn’t his first
So I don’t really want to keep it but how do I go about selling it?
What else could I do with it?
Ranges in price from small to expensive

Hit me with your ideas!

Most jewellery doesn’t have a decent resale. Stick it on eBay or take it to a dealer. A lot of it may be just scrap which has a price.

Resale value is poor. Save it for your daughter if you have one or your daughter in law if you have a son.

If no children then you could have some stones reset into other jewellery but it's a shame to take good jewellery apart.

I swapped some bits from my ex for things she had from hers. We both ended up with new nice things with no emotional connection.

Give to children - I have both my parents wedding rings (divorced from each other)
Sell on eBay or vinted is an excellent idea
Also take to jewellers you could use the stone and put into something else create your own ring or pendant etc

A co-worker had hers re-worked into a new piece. Take yours to a jeweller and see what they can do. Only if you can separate the physical stone and gold from the symbolic meaning of your original rings.

I second the idea of having it reworked into something you love. A friend of mine has a divorce ring made out of a pair of earrings and a necklace that her former husband gave her. She went to a jeweller with some ideas which he worked into something unique

I had my wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring made into one new ring which I now wear on my right hand.

I put mine in for scrap - it included a lot of odds and ends as well as 'full' pieces and I used the money to pay some bills the ex had left me with and a little trip for me and the kids.

The only bits I've saved are a necklace and matching earrings I wore on my wedding day - they are saved for if my girls get married and want to wear them.

So if the jewellery means nothing to you, if it's gold or silver. Take it to the jewellery quarter and get it weighed in. It depends on the price for that day, but it's an option for you to make a bit of money and treat yourself. Sounds like you deserve it. All the best.
