Pension actuary report

Hi everyone,

As my ex’s pension is over £200,000, the solicitor has recommended I obtain a pension report to calculate equalisation and an offset ratio.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

They're all hugely expensive and mostly need to be instructed by a solicitor. We used www.excaliburactuaries.co.uk/ and they were fine.

We used Simon Ricca from PODE services and were happy with him, he quoted a lower fee than everyone else as well.

It would likely use up £2000 - £4000 to do this, so I think the usefulness would depend on the range of other assets and what each person is hoping to achieve from the settlement. I'm assuming it's a defined benefit scheme, as a defined contribution scheme is closer to being a savings account.
